Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and driven Corporate Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regulations, and IRS requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a collaborative mindset to support high-quality financial reporting and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Lead monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry processing and analytical review of financial statements throughout close.
-Solution for complex accounting issues with minimal supervision.
-Manage shared accounting processes for the Collaboration, including analysis of shared and specific liabilities for each Association, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
-Manage Fixed Asset accounting including project closeouts, ensuring compliance and accurate asset system updates.
-Complete payroll and benefits accounting processes for the Associations, including coordination with Human Resources and Compensation team, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Farm Credit Foundations.
-Ensure accurate and timely processing, accurate account classifications, and timely resolution of issues.
-Manage the set-up and maintenance of inter-entity allocations.
-Propel the achievement of team goals by identifying and implementing scalable process improvements from an operational and technical perspective.
-Maintain and implement internal controls necessary to ensure integrity of data used for preparation of financial reports.
-Support work of accounting teammates to ensure various subledgers are maintained and amortization schedules are accurate, including fixed assets, leases and prepaid accounts.
Education Requirements
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Banking, or Finance.
Years of Experience
-6+ years working in a general accounting environment, including large enterprise reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable and fixed asset systems.
-CPA/CMA designation preferred.
-Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), chart of accounts structure and concepts, and regulatory requirements.
-Multi-entity accounting experience and complex transaction experience is desired.
