Head Chef – Destination Pub & Events Venue
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Tips & Bonus
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a busy, traditional destination pub in Colne, Lancashire. This popular venue serves around 500 covers per week and hosts a variety of events, from weddings and sit-down banquets to buffets for private functions.
As Head Chef, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the menu, including pub classics and fresh seafood dishes, and work closely with the management team to grow trade and develop the year-round food offering. This is a fantastic role for an ambitious Sous Chef looking to step up or an experienced Head Chef seeking a fresh challenge.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality
Oversee menu planning, GP control, stock management, and supplier relationships
Deliver exceptional standards across pub dishes and event catering
Recruit, train, and inspire a small kitchen team
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Collaborate with management to enhance the food offering and grow trade
About You
Established Head Chef, or a strong Sous Chef ready to step up
Experience in high-volume pub kitchens and event/banqueting catering
Passionate about cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients, particularly seafood and traditional dishes
Hands-on leader with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Strong commercial understanding – margins, GP, and stock control
Flexible and resilient, thriving in a seasonal environment
