Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM some holiday and weekends (
Training: Some travel initially for training at our Buffalo Service Center
Compensation: $22.00 per hour
SUMMARY
Pace Field Tech's are responsible for collecting, testing, processing and maintenance of field/environmental samples, which involve knowledge on intermediate to complex environmental support policies, programs and practices while completing appropriate forms, documents and databases and interacting with customers.
Work environments may include air, soil, water, and related areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides field services using varied field/environmental support knowledge in the collection and review of conditions, including taking samples, completing test kits, and taking, documenting and communicating results. Picks up, transports and delivers results, samples, documents, materials and other items as needed. Prepares vehicle or truck for daily operations, including complex documents, kits, supplies, materials, safety, and related areas. Reviews, completes and processes various types of logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information. Provides intermediate to complex support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding field/environmental support policies, programs and practices. Provides various support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve employee, management and related customer issues. Assists in the review and implementation of field/environmental support policies, practices and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs. Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of environmental support experience; Associates degree preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Valid Driver's License.
Required Knowledge
Intermediate to complex principles, practices and techniques of field/environmental support. Technical customer service principles and practices. Safe driving principles and practices. Applying the daily administration of field/environmental support programs, policies and procedures. Intermediate to complex methods to resolve field/environmental support or technical problems, questions and concerns. Ability to learn various applicable organizational policies and procedures on sample maintenance. Computer applications and systems related to the work. Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member. Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations. Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Working Environment Work is performed in various work settings - both indoor and outdoor environments.
