About the Role
We’re looking for a
Apprentice Maintenance Fitter
to join our team at
Berri Estates Winery
in South Australia.
This is a full-time, shift-based role where you’ll learn to maintain and repair mechanical systems across our winery operations.
You’ll be supported by experienced mentors and structured learning through TAFE, working toward a nationally recognised qualification while gaining hands-on experience with vintage equipment, pumps, conveyors, and more.
What You'll Be Doing
Under supervision, you’ll:
-Perform preventive maintenance on winery machinery
-Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in tanks, pumps, presses, etc.
-Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
-Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
-Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
-Record maintenance activities and parts usage
-Support general facility maintenance and inventory management
-Follow safety, environmental, and food-grade standards
Who We're Looking For
Skills & Qualifications:
-Completion of Year 11 or 12 with solid Maths & English
-Pre-vocational course or Cert I/II (advantageous but not essential)
-Strong problem-solving and communication skills
-Forklift License (advantageous but not essential)
-Driver’s license
Personal Attributes:
-Team player with a proactive attitude
-Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
-Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
-Manual handling
-Willingness to work shifts and undertake safety training
