The Parts Mover is responsible for transporting, organizing, and staging materials, components, and finished parts throughout the manufacturing facility to ensure a smooth production flow. This position plays a key role in supporting production efficiency by maintaining timely and accurate movement of parts between workstations, storage areas, and shipping/receiving.
Key Responsibilities
Safely move raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods to designated locations within the facility. Deliver parts and supplies to machine operators, inspectors, and other production areas as requested. Load and unload carts, pallets, and bins to support production needs. Maintain accurate counts of parts being moved; report shortages or discrepancies. Keep parts organized and properly staged to avoid delays in production. Assist with packaging and preparing parts for shipment as needed. Follow all company safety rules, including proper lifting techniques and use of equipment. Support inventory control by helping with cycle counts and proper labeling of parts. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; ensure parts are not damaged during movement. Update production boards from the control side. Enter inventory information into the MRP or ERP system(s).
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and counting skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Forklift or pallet jack experience a plus (training can be provided).
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop floor conditions. Frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. May be required to work overtime or weekends to support production schedules.
