About the role
We're currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Infrastructure Project Manager to join our European IT team, based in the UK (hybrid working available) for a minimum period of 6 months.
This new role leads strategic initiatives that fundamentally change how CRH's IT functions and delivers value. The main area of responsibility is to develop and execute strategic project plans to modernise IT infrastructure and processes. Focus technology areas include Cloud and Data Centre, Networks, Digital Workplace Platform, and Service Management.
Main responsibilities
In this role you'll:
-Develop detailed project plans including schedules, dependencies, milestones and resource allocation
-Coordinate cross-functional teams, including operations, infrastructure, applications and operating companies (OpCo)
-Manage multiple interconnected projects within the transformation programme
-Identify and assess potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
-Track and report on project budget, variances and forecasts
-Manage complex infrastructure projects across multiple domains, Network, Cloud and Application transformations
-Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
-Support end users through change management and training
-Lead project meetings, providing regular progress reports to the PMO and senior management
-Coordinate third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
Experience & qualifications
To be successful in this role you'll need:
-A deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture
-A demonstrable technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in a field such as cloud, network, security, and infrastructure projects
-Experience of network technologies and protocols (LAN/WAN, SDWAN)
-Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
-An understanding of virtualization technologies and application infrastructure requirements
-Change management experience in technical environments
-Effective engagement skills with experience of working with a range of stakeholders including senior leaders
-A proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid)
-To be resilient and adaptable within a dynamic environment
-Governance and compliance awareness
-To be an effective communicator across diverse audiences
-A willingness to travel within Europe
-An excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
-A proven ability to effectively gather requirements, prioritise tasks and scheduling
-A Degree/Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
-Certification in project and service management (e.g., ITIL, AgilePM, CSM, PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable
