Architectural Technologist
Location: Cheltenham
Salary Expectations: GBP35-42,000 (DOE)
A forward-thinking and well-established consultancy is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join its welcoming and collaborative team in Cheltenham. Specialising in commercial and industrial schemes, the practice delivers projects across all stages - from concept and design development through to technical detailing and on-site completion. The relevant Architectural Technologist:
* Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent (HND/HNC considered)
* Demonstrable UK experience in a similar role
* Strong technical portfolio, ideally covering commercial/industrial projects
* Proficiency in Revit (essential); AutoCAD advantageous
* Solid knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations, and technical standards
* Highly organised with strong communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Key responsibilities:
* Producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings across planning, tender, and construction stages
* Developing coordinated, buildable technical solutions from design concepts
* Liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery
* Coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers on layouts
* Supporting projects through RIBA Stages 1-5
* Preparing and managing planning applications, advising clients on requirements
* Ensuring all outputs comply with Building Regulations, codes, and best practice
* Carrying out site visits, preparing reports, and resolving technical queries
* Assisting with scope of work documents and contributing to design risk registers
