Buyer - Full Time / Permanent Location: Oxford (towards Kidlington) Reports to: Head of Purchasing Salary: up to 40k DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and commercially minded Buyer to join a growing team in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a supplier portfolio and contribute to the development of a dynamic product range that reflects market trends and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate trading agreements - Monitor product pricing and support promotional activity - Identify opportunities to improve profitability and expand supplier base - Attend trade shows and pitch new product ideas - Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify trends - Lead category reviews and manage product performance - Handle new product enquiries and range development - Analyse data and provide actionable insights to improve results
Person Profile:
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset - Strong communication and relationship-building skills - Organised and detail-oriented with analytical ability - Comfortable working in a fast-moving and evolving environment - Confident in challenging ideas and driving improvements - Approachable and team-focused
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role - Proven negotiation skills with suppliers - Degree or CIPS qualification desirable - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new systems
